Hello everyone,
I hope that you're all having a lovely Sunday and tha it shared with the ones that you love. I wanted to share with you a tea that I've had my eyes on for quite sometime now; by long time I mean a few years now, and that is the beautiful Mandarin Silk by Art of Tea. Art of Tea is a fairly young California tea company that has grown notorious for its blends and fantasy teas. Fantasy tea is a term that means an unnatural combination and pairing in a tea to create a distinctive flavor. Mandarin Silk is a perfect example of this.

What I love about this tea is that it's an Oolong that has a unique blend of creamy sweet notes with traditional Asian citrus undertones. The tea is so intense in flavor at the first brew that it feels like your eating a rich dessert. I first tried this blend at a cafe and put down my dessert just to drink it. A trait of all of Art of Teas blended creations are the rich burst of flavors. To finish off, it has a nice delicate set of floral notes that become predominant in the later flushes of the tea. It's rare to find a fantasy Oolong, so I hunted down this as a little birthday present for myself.
This is a light body Oolong, as that it has been slightly oxidized. It fairs more on the Green and White scale of tea. I love a nice light Oolong in the morning, and it was perfect with my Sunday morning DimSum. Mmmmm
Please do yourself a treat by visiting the Art of Tea website and getting yourself a blend that tickles your senses. As a last minute tip, brew these teas lighter than normal as they do have stronger notes. This way you can fully enjoy the flavors.
