OOTD: Rejuviebagz

This OOTD is a bit of a personal show-and-tell for me; more so than perhaps any other post. As you can tell from the title this is about Rejuviebagz,a company that is based in the Philippines and creates fashion items from recycled materials.  Unfortunately, their products are not currently available in the US.

So I know you're thinking 'How did you get them? Well... I cheated, A LOT! You see, the International Sales Manager is my Aunt! I've been rocking these purses for over 10 years now, testing all the designs out whenever I get a package from her. These photos are my first official shots of me with the products, and I'm so happy to share them with the rest of the world!

When they were sold in the US, they were sold through one of the Designers, Rebecca Molina. She was the middle woman that would give us the gifts from my Aunt with her bulk shipments. Over the years, my mom and her have grown to be close endearing friends. So the bond with these amazing products runs even deeper with me.

The products that I'm wearing in this post are created with woven juice bags. Yes you read that right, these are juice backs, similar to the packs of Hi C here in the US. Let me tell you, these bags are incredibly tough and very wear and tear resistant. My fondest story of these purses are that I moved from one dorm to another only using a larger model of the one I'm wearing. Books, Shoes, Clothes, you name it; I stuffed that bag and traveled up and down a two buildings and three flights of stairs.

This model is currently my favorite purse from Rejuviebagz. I just love the part where I can insert a scarf to match my mood. It came with a tie dye thing scarf that's native to the Philipines, but I've added crochet, Japanese obi, and in this case silk scarfs to the bag to match my outfit that day.

A new addition to their collection are these beautiful crane necklaces. This is what started my mania for their products all over again! From what my Aunt has told me, these are selling like mad in Tokyo and have been featured in many Harajuku/ J-Pop fashion magazines. They also have other designs like pearls and soon stars! I do hope they find a distributor in the US soon or else I might have to do something about it...

Sweater: Lane Bryant, Dress, K Mart, Necklace: Rejuviebagz, Skinny Belt: Torrid,
Shoes: K Mart, Purse: Rejuviebagz, Silk Scarf Tie: Vintage Gift from Mom

I do hope I can do some sort of giveaway with their products in the future as my following gets stronger. In the meantime enjoy the photos. Special thanks to Ray Nagar from Project 760 for taking them.
