My Ides of March Romance

In Southern California, the citrus blossoms bloom around this time of year filling the air with a heady perfume as the breeze occasionally passes by. The days have a slight chill with a light sunny sky. Spring settles in the crevices waiting to go into full affect. Producers and artist go into a spell preparing for the festivals of mid spring and summer, chasing muses and cherishing the whispered bustle. This is probably one of my favorite times of the year that make me think of this magical city of Los Angeles. This is also why Eugene and I decided to get married at this time, with the Ides of March as our date.

Our colors were citrus notes; bright yellow, spring green, and a deep orange. They were in contrast with the clean sharp architecture that Little Tokyo Los Angeles provided. We got married in the same venue where we started our arts festival, it felt like home being surrounded with our friends. I just remember everything being so whimsical, exciting, and familiar all at once. It was such a great feeling that I still can't shake, so when the Ides of March hits my heart goes all a flutter. I know Ides of March is a bit of a strange date, but Eugene and I wanted to incorporate our bibliophile nature in as well, and Julius Caesar was the first Shakespeare play I ever read way before it was required reading.

I haven't been around the blog much during this time, so I felt it would be best to take this time on my anniversary to reflect and show you some of the pictures from the wedding. I'm such a happy and proud wife, and I feel incredibly blessed.

Plus to keep it on a little bit of a blogger note, here is the link to our wedding website, which we fittingly made as a blog: http://mmeandmrla.blogspot.com/

Have a great day everyone!
